Flyer

Here are the flyers I made for the bakery thing. I decided to post them here cause... why not?

By the way the tasting of their stuff yesterday was AMAZING. I was a fat kid and tried everything... and then took seconds on my favorites cause there were left overs and I was put in charge of cleaning it up. NOTE: Do not put me in charge of left over free chocolate. My inner fat kid cannot resist such temptations.

I would strongly recommend them for all your future desert needs. They had a cool Ace of Cakes style MTV cake! SO cool and yummy! I wish I could bake... but if it doesn't come out of a box with step by step directions, I am lost.

Oh! And the woman who owns the business's name is Pedal. How cute is that?

Also sunburn status: Small areas have turned to tan, but for the most part I am still in an incredible amount of pain. ouch.

Rodeo, Sprinkles and more

This past week at work I did nothing. No. Seriously. I watched the MJ Memoiral. I also designed this flyer for a bakery showcase that is today... which is cool. Putting my graphic arts skills from high school to use.

But other than that didn't do a damn thing. I was BORED OUT OF MY MIND! (and this week doesn't look like it will be busier).

This weekend was fun though. Friday veronica and I went to Rodeo Drive and checked out the stores there. She bought some stuff... but I am broke and couldn't get a damn thing. I did stare into the Chanel store and cry though. Why am I not a spoiled little rich girl that can just throw away daddy's money!?!

One day... one day I WILL own Chanel. And it will be great.

We did stop at Sprinkles Cupcakes... which was AMAZING. Best cupcake EVER. I got a t-shirt from there. Because it's cool. Don't judge me.

We also decided to stalk the playboy mansion, cause we were over by there. We found it... but from the street you can only see the VERY tip of the roof. I was sad. We also drove around the UCLA campus and looked at the sorority houses. Too bad they don;t have an AXD there, cause otherwise we could have seen inside the hosue. Would have been WAY cool.

Sat. was just kinda chill. I saw Bruno... thought it was pretty good. But there was just something off about it. I donno. Not as good as Borat.

Sunday I went to Will Rogers beach. It was SUCH a nice day! There waves were HUGE too. I really love playing in the waves. It's so simple... and so fun. I love it.

But what I don't love is forgetting to re-aply sun screen and coming home to discover that I have turned into lobster woman. So that is where I am right now. All kinds of exhusted from the sun and in pain. Oh... and bright red. It's awesome. Let me tell you.

I need Aloe.
And a nap.

I am currently debating if I can get away with napping in my cubicle.
...I think the answer is yes.

Damn... what a great Thursday!/ I got "discovered"!

I got the day off on Thursday.

During the day I worked out at a gym, it felt AMAZING. I always feel a lot happier after working out... I went back today (Friday) and I think I will get a membership at the gym when my free trail is up.

Then around 4ish went out with Veronica to meet Jill (one of the other interns) at her place in Hollywood for dinner. We got thai. It was good. Then we decided to be tourists and went to Hollywood and Highland, which is where the Kodak theater and the handprints and stuff are.

It is ALSO where Michael Jackson's star happens to be. The crowd around it hasn't so bad (there was still a crowd) we we kinda leaned over and too a quick look. There is a shine around his star. There were also a BUNCH of people trying to sell MJ t-shirts, and some really really bad MJ impersonators around. Tacky Tacky (then again it is Hollywood and Highland... I donno what I expected).

We tried to see the Hollywood sign from Jill's roof... but for some reason it wasn't lit up.

On our way home Veronica and I decided to stop by MJ's house in Homely Hills (it was RIGHT on our way home). We stopped there and looked at the shrine. A lady gave us both a tea light, so we lit a candle for Michael.

Yeah. The guy was creepy. I don't know if he ever touch a child or not... but a lot of his other behavior was really really weird. BUT the guy inspired SO much, and I would be lying if I said that I didn't like a lot of his music. I think the guy deserves respect, and it was amazing looking at the shrines around his house (there was one main one, and a few small ones around). There was nothing but love for the guy there. People were telling stores about him too. One woman (the one who gave us the candle) cooked for him once.

So I'm glad we stopped by to see that and pay our respects (cause there is NO WAY IN HELL I am even going to attempt to go to the Staples Center).

After I got dropped off at home, I headed out to the Hideout (a small karaoke bar off the PCH). I'e gone there a few times before, and it is usually really chill. But last night it was CRAZY because the reality show "Bad Girls Club" was filming there.

UHHGGGGG I HATE HATE HATE that show! SO completely trashy. It's just girls acting like sluts, and that is exactly what they were doing in the bar! Also we had to wait forever to do karaoke cause any time one of the girls wanted to sing (which was a lot) they would get to go right away. One of the girls sounded ok... the others... it just hurt to listen to. Also if a guy they thought was cute was signing, they would jump up and join him and grind on him. SO tacky.

I was trying to hide, cause I DO NOT want to even appear in the background on that show. THIS is how much I despise it!

Also it was SO obvious these girls were doing their best to act. When the cameras were on them they would do something "bad". As in grab a guy and grind on him/ make out with him. And as soon as the camera was off them, they would act normal. But if the camera was off any of them for too long, they would draw attention to themselves and then start at it again.

I have no idea WHY they chose to go to the Hideout. It is NOT that kinda bar... but whatever. It'll look that way on TV I guess.

ALSO I got "discovered" last night! lol

I was my turn to do karaoke (the dj actually skipped over a bunch of people to get me up... probably cause I'm a girl). I sang "Come on Eileen", and apparently rocked it out. Some friends I was with jumped up around me and did the dance... and then (of course) the "bad girls" jumped up to and danced... whatever. (They weren't recording at this point, thank God).

ANYHOO after I was done this guy comes up to me and said he thought I did really great and had a great voice. He THEN said he was from Paradigm Agency and that he knew some people who he thought would love to meet me.

(I have actually filed some stuff from them at VH1, they are not the biggest agency around, but they are a legit one).

So there you have it. I have been discovered! Apparently all you gotta do is rock out to "Come on Eileen", who knew?

Now it is time to abandon all my friends and buy a giant house and fancy fancy car! Fuck you Honda Civic! I'm getting a Corvette! (I hope anyone that read that can pick up on the sarcasm. If not... you fail).

No really... I did email him today, we'll see if I get a response or if anything happens from it. I am not getting my hopes up or anything. We'll just see. If I get a meeting, awesome. If something comes out of it, even more awesome. If not? Then I just have a fun story to tell (and know that if I ever do karaoke again, "Come on Eileen" is a song that I will not look like an idiot doing).

SO that was my amazing Thursday!

Tonight I am seeing Equus with Jeff (one of my roommates). I haven't seen it before... but I understand there is horse fucking involved. Should be a memorable evening!

Save the Music

So I DID end up going to the Save the Music event on Saturday night.

It was a Matt Nathanson concert at a lounge in Westwood.

I spent a good part of last week getting contact ionformation for a bunch of celebs the people running the event were interested in and sending out invites. There was a BUNCH of people on the list, but not all realistic (they had me send out an invite to Leo Dicaprio). Only about 7 said they would come (all pretty much C and D listers... most famous was Stanford from Sex and the City and Rene from True Blood).

Veronica and I got to the event (we went to the wrong place first... THAT was embaressing). Our job was to check talent in and bring them to the "red carpet" (which was really just a very small carpet with a banner thing in back for photos... the only photogs that were there were the ones hired for the event). Only 1 person frome the list ended up showing up. Katie Chonacas, who had a role in "It's Always Sunny in Phili" and was in the straight to DVD movie "Legacey" with Hillary Duff's sister. This would have been much cooler for me had I actually SEEN Legacey. (Fuck you random ass sorority girls who checked it out from the Iowa City Blockbuster and never returned it! Fuck. You.)

Anyhoo, she seemed pretty nice... kinda acted like she was a bigger deal then she was. Like the entrence to the event was roped off and she didn't want to walk the 5 feet around to get in. Yeah the guard guy at the event should have stepped aside to let her in, but he was kinda clueless and jsut stood there, despite us telling him top let her in. So instead of walking the 5 feet around, she kinda pushed passed him. Whatever. Other than that she seemed nice enough.

Also while taking photos on the red carpet she was REALLY wokring it, which is fine. I get that she wants to get a good picture and blah blah blah. But really? It was a SUPER casula event (Veronica and I were way overdressed as no one bothered to inform us of this), and she was "working it" a BIT much. Veronica and I just kinda stood there laughing quietly to ourselves a bit (we later made fun of her and took some pictures on the red carpet ourselves and tried to "work it). We also talked to the girl she was with. She seemed nice. She was wearing these CRAZY ass high shoes (at the VERY least a 6 inch heal... maybe even 7) and she was tryign to tell us that the shoes were "like slippers". Yeah, sure hun. You were dieing inside DON'T even lie. I don't care if it is the BEST constructed shoe in the world. A 6 inch heel is a 6 inch heel and that is in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM even CLOSE to a slipper (maybe that is why they didn't want to walk the 5 extra feet? It's all comeing together now...)

So Veronica and I waited for about an hour at the entrance for more of the booked talent to show... but KAtie was the only one. We did however get interviewed by this CRAZY lady for... something. I don't even know. She jsut came up to us with her camera guy and started asking us questions. We were like.... we're interns... but... alright. She had this creepy smile plastered on her face. I'm pretty sure that I will have nightmeres about it for years to come.

ANYHOO after about an hour we were told that we could stop waiting and enjoy the event. Matt Nathanson was fantastic. Like really. I loved him. We got way close to the stage too which was really neat. He was also really funny and would crack a bunch of jokes, he has kidna a Dane Cook humor.

The concert ended and a BUNCH of people left, but Veronica and I decided to stay and chill and whatnot. They had a bunch of art up so we looked around at that. One cool thing is there was this wall that they just put a bunch of blank canvases on and paint near, and anyone could jsut go and paint whatever they wanted.

We talked to a few people, and got hit on by these weird ass guys who insisted on getting us cookies. We tried hiding from them, but they found us. Thankfully they got the hint after a while though.

Then we hung out with some other interns/ staff from the LA film festival (including fucking Kevin who we talked to outside the event- he was checking other people in and took the pictures of us on the red carpet... he couldn't figure out my camer though. It was point and shoot!).

The party kinda got really lame around midnight so we left with the LA film festival people and went to this hooka bar. It was alright... personally I like the one in Iowa City better. This one was really loud and packed, where the red poppy is much more chill enviornment and you kinda get your own personal space. Some of the people ditched out early and didn't pay enough so those of us left got stuck paying a bit more (I threw in only a few extra bucks, I couldn't afford to do more). I really hate when people do that. It is SO crazy rude. That's why I always try to settle the bill before people leave.

But overall thye night was really good. A lot of people came up to me saying that they loved my dress and one girl told me that she liked my make-up. Hurray for ego boosts (to be honest it was nice... I tend to be very self concious so those comments were really nice).

Sunday I went to the beach with Sam. I haven't seen her in FOREVER so that was cool. We got hit on by this drunk guy at dinner. He was at the tabel next to us and would NOT get the hint that we didn't want to talk to him (despite ignoring him, giving him dirty looks, not acting interested in ANY way, refusing drink offers, and even inventing a fake boyfriend to try and get him off our backs). I was SO thankful when the check came and we left.

Being hit on by creepy 30 year olds is seeming to become the story of my life here. At the OLDEST I can pass for 23... why would they think I'd be interested? GROSS.

Note to guys (not that I know of guys that read this... or anyone else for that matter) if a girl is not interested and makes that clear to you (like we did to this guy): LEAVE HER ALONE!!!

Other than that though, it was a pretty good weekend.

In the office now... killing time.
(Ignore spelling errors and typos and this computer is not letting me do spell check).

White Rabbit, Greek, and more!

Busy weekend!

Thursday night:
-There was a band (White Rabbit) that played at MTV Thursday afternoon. I didn't see them, cause I had no idea it was happening, but some of the other interns did and said they were good and were gonna go see them in concert that night (they were playing at the Troubadour in West Hollywood). I wanted to see them too, so we got our names put on the list cause MTV is magic like that (I'm not gonna lie I felt like a BAD ASS walking up to the line and being all "I'm on the list". I am SUCH a tool).

So me and Veronica (she was the only other one that ended up going) went to the concert. It was really good! I loved the band (they are sending over some cds to MTV, so I think I am gonna grab one of those). Also the Troubadour is a really cool place... it's split level and small, but I liked it a lot. I'll probably try to see another show there.

Friday:

I worked on Greek as an extra again!

I rented a car and headed down to the studio. I was suppose to get there at 2:30ish... but traffic was TERRIBLE. Seriously it look me 2 hours to go 7 miles. It was AWFUL. But I finally got there (half an hour late).

I shot 2 scenes. The first was showing a bunch of girls signing up to do a charity undie run. I was one of the girls in the line signing up. Jake McDorman (Evan) was there... in his undies. Probably one of the greatest moments in my life (no really the guy look SO good without a shirt!).

The other scene took place at night, it was the actual "undie run" event. I didn't ahve to strip down to my undies, but some extras did. I was just in a tank and shorts. In this scene I saw Scott Foster (Cappie) in his boxers (this WAS the greatest moment in my life). I talked to him for like... 2 seconds (while he was only wearing boxers), and Spencer (Cassie). Both were really nice and fun people.

Also the guy who plays Calvin said "hi" to me, and I saw the actresses who play Ashley and Rebecca, so that was neat.

Also they needed a "kissing couple" for the show for some still photos, so I figured it's an extra pay bump and I've already made out with someone on the show... why not? So I kissed a guy for the cameras, he was cute so it was all good.

Basically I had fun. It was a LATE night though. I got home at 4am.

I kinda missed extra work... just being on the set and all and getting to talk to a lot of really different people is fun. So I'll look into do a bit more of that (hopefully more on Greek... cause it's Greek).

Saturday:
Chelsea was in town this weekend!!! She stayed at my place. I felt bad cause we were gonna hang out Friday too... but the shoot went SO long. I had no idea it was gonna be a night shoot, but what are you gonna do?

We slept in a bit, returned my rental car, then got pancakes. After that we pretty much just chilled out at the apartment.

Sunday:
Chelsea and I walked down to Santa Monica beach and the shopping area around there. It was good times. Our feet killed on the way back. We also made brownies, which is terrible because now I am eating them.

Chelsea left Monday while I was at work. I was very sad that she left. :(

Monday:
Yeah... nothing really to speak of happened Monday except that I GOT AN IPHONE! It's my brothers old one... but it is still pretty and I like it.

Tuesday:
Found out today that I MIGHT (nothing for sure) get to go to a "Save the Music" event this weekend, which would be really really really cool. I am super hoping that it ends up working out.

creative title.

New stuff going on:

-today worked on a list of "cougars" in hollywood. So THAT was exciting...

-The other day the Tia and Tamera from Sister Sister were in the office for a meeting. I saw them walking out of the elevator.

-Read a pilot at work... I guess VH1 is considering doing some scripted shows which is cool.

-I got a job as an extra on Greek again for Friday, so I am actually really excited for that. I had a really good time on the set last year, so I am hoping this time will be just as good of an experience.

-Chelsea might be coming in to visit me this weekend! I miss her and I am really excited to have her stay here :)

-I am watching an insane amount of Ghost Hunters and want to be a paranormal investigator now. Who else is in? It'll be fuuunnn!!!

Nothing exciting going on at work.

It seems as though all I do is create lists of different people, and then do research on them (single male celebs in their 30's, socialites, etc.)

I tired to find some extra work for friday... but there was nothing going on.

Thursday I went to a karaoke bar and thought it would be a really good idea to sing kelly clarkson. it was not a good idea, in fact it was a bad idea.

Yesterday I walked to 3rd street to look for a yellow dress for recruitment and just kinda shop in general. I also stopped off at a craft store and bought this wood burning thing and some unfinished wooden boxes, so I am gonna be all crafty this weekend.

Last night I went to a bar in Hollywood. It was fun. Drinks were expensive, and it kinda got old after a few hours. But it's all good.
